Lab Members

Amanda Prieur

Clinical Research Coordinator Technician

Started in the lab: September 2016

Amanda received her medical assisting certification (CMA) from Everest Institute in 2010. She specializes in nutrition, patient care, as well as phlebotomy.

Amanda runs the platelet core for our lab. She also handles all blood draws and recruiting while taking care of a lot of the administrative side of the lab. Her recruitment and sample collection contribute to all thrombosis and hemostasis projects in the lab. Amanda is an animal lover, specifically golden retrievers, and loves to travel!

Devin Gilmore, B.S.

Lab Technician

Started in the lab: August 2022

Devin graduated from Purdue University in May 2022 with a B.S. in Biology.

She works on maintaining the lab as well as other administrative tasks.

Krista Goerger

Graduate Student

Started in the lab: October 2022

Krista received her B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Sioux Falls in 2021 and is pursuing her Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the University of Michigan.

As a Ph.D. candidate, she is working on determining the antiplatelet and antithrombotic effects of EPA regulated through its 12-lipoxygenase oxylipin metabolite, 12-HEPE. She also works on investigating 12-HETE as a potential diagnostic predictor for thrombosis by collecting samples from cardiovascular patients, in addition to helping with various industry projects in the lab. Outside the lab, Krista enjoys spending her free time playing volleyball and traveling.

Livia Stanger

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Started in the lab: August 2020

Livia graduated from Colby College with a B.S. in Neurobiology and completed her Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the University of Michigan in 2025

She spent a summer with the lab as an FCVC SURF fellow in 2019 and then joined as a technician in August 2020. She completed her Ph.D. focusing on delineating the signaling pathways regulating platelet activation and thrombosis in the lab of Dr. Michael Holinstat. Livia is continuing her studies on CS585, CS014, and Sotagliflozin in the Holinstat lab.

Mariane Flores, Ph.D.

Research Investigator

Started in the lab: October 2023

Mariane received her Postdoctoral, doctoral, and master's degrees in Medical Pathophysiology from the University of Campinas in Brazil in 2014, 2011, and 2007 respectively.

Now as a Research Investigator in our lab, she is actively evaluating CS585 for a potential role in the treatment of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP). Outside the lab, Mariane is a proud mother of Helena and Olivia!

Pooja Yalavarthi, B.S.

Research Technician

Started in the lab: Undergraduate in the lab from August 2021-December 2024; started as a Research Technician in the lab in January 2025

In the lab, she works on analyzing the effects of a new platelet inhibitor and its effects on platelet activation.

Ashleigh Kilgore

Undergraduate Student

Started in the Lab: September 2023

Ashleigh will graduate from the University of Michigan in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience.

In the lab, she is working on determining the receptors through which eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) is able to mediate anti-platelet effects.

Daniel Yang

Undergraduate Student

Started in the Lab: October 2023

Daniel will graduate from the University of Michigan in 2028 with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology.

In the lab, he works on assisting on various projects in the lab.
