Amanda Priuer 

Clinical Research Coordinator Technician

Started in the lab: September 2016  

Amanda received her medical assisting certification (CMA) from Everest Institute in 2010. She specializes in nutrition, patient care, as well as phlebotomy. 

Amanda runs the platelet core for our lab. She also handles all blood draws and recruiting while taking care of a lot of the administrative side of the lab. Her recruitment and sample collection contribute to all thrombosis and hemostasis projects in the lab. Amanda is an animal lover, specifically golden retrievers, and loves to travel! 

Devin Gilmore

Lab Technician

Started in the lab: August 2022

Devin graduated from Purdue University in May 2022 with a B.S. in Biology. 

She works on maintaining the lab as well as other administrative tasks. 

Krista Goerger 

Graduate Student

Started in the lab: October 2022

Krista received her B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Sioux Falls in 2021, and is pursuing her Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the University of Michigan. 

During her rotation, she continues to learn the in vitro assays utilized to examine platelet activation and analyzes the effects of a new platelet inhibitor. Outside of the lab, Krista enjoys spending her free time playing volleyball and being outdoors. 

Livia Stanger

Graduate Student 

Started in the lab: August 2020

Livia graduated from Colby College with a B.S. in Neurobiology and is working on her Ph.D. in Pharmacology at the University of Michigan.

She spent a summer with the lab as an FCVC SURF fellow in 2019 and then joined as a technician in August 2020. Now as a Ph.D. candidate, she is working on delineating the signaling pathway of PPAR𝛼 in the anucleate platelet. In addition, she works on CS585, CS014, and various other projects in the lab. 

Mariane Flores, Ph.D. 

Research Investigator  

Started in the lab: October 2023

Mariane received her Postdoctoral, doctoral, and master's degrees in Medical Pathophysiology from the University of Campinas in Brazil in 2014, 2011, and 2007 respectively. 

Now as a Research Investigator in our lab, she is actively evaluating CS585 for a potential role in the treatment of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP). Outside the lab, Mariane is a proud mother of Helena and Olivia!

Pooja Yalavarthi 

Undergraduate Student 

Started in the lab: August 2021 

Pooja will graduate from the University of Michigan in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science. 

In the lab, she works on analyzing the effects of a new platelet inhibitor and its effects on platelet activation.
